I’ve been teaching Japanese for 18 years in Hong Kong.Today, I’d like to talk about some Japanese words, that express the meaning of “many”.  Some of my students make similar mistakes repeatedly. I will explain how to translate “play” to Japanese correctly. play: Many Japanese learners translate this word to あそぶ、あそびます。遊ぶ Junko: きのう何をしましたか。　What did you do yesterday? Student: わたしは　テニスであそびました。　I played tennis. オンライン日本語教師１年目が教える、「まずは、これをやって！」 こんにちは！オンラインで日本語を教えはじめて、もうすぐ１年になるNattsuです！ 私は去年の10月に日本語教育能力試験を受験し、ちょうど今頃合格証明書を頂きました。 受験に合格したことで、なんとなく勇気が湧いてオンラインプラットフォームに登録したものの、2023年、コロナ明けのプラットフォームはもうすでに飽和状態寸前、、、。 日本語を教えた経験がほとんどない、マンツーマン＋オンラインで授業をしたことがない、媒介語で教えるのが初めてetc.. 初めてだらけだった私が、この１年を通して複数のプラットホームに登録してみました。 その結果、たくさんの気づきと学びあったので、それを今回まとめてみました。 この記事では、これからオンラインで日本語を教えてみたい！！という方に向けて、最初にやるべきことや、気をつけるポイントをご紹介します。 私の失敗談、成功談も赤裸々に書きましたので、未経験の方、経験者の方もぜひ参考にしてみてください！ （1年前の自分に向けて書きました♪） ① プラットフォームに登録してみよう！ まずはオンラインで日本語を教えるためのプラットフォームに登録しましょう。ここでのポイントは、プロフィール動画やサムネイルに力を入れることです。 ここで私の失敗談 実は私、語学プラットホーム大手のItalkiに落ちました！！！（泣）理由は、おそらく私の動画がItalkiのルールに沿っていなかった為・・・Italkiは、教師は”教える言語”でプロフィール動画を撮ること、を求めています（確か）。（私は英語で撮影していました）特にItalkiのような人気のプラットフォームは、いつ日本語教師を募集するかわかりません。動画の転用は難しい場合がありますので、ご注意を・・・！！ ② プラットフォームの特徴を知る！ 登録したプラットフォームは、これからの「仕事の場」となる大事なパートナーです。 特徴をしっかり理解しておくことをお勧めします！！ ここで私の失敗談 某アメー〇〇○トーカーというプラットフォームですが、手数料がエグイです！もちろん、私も始める前から知ってはいましたが、始めてみて愕然・・・。（年内に辞めようか検討中）その分広告に力も入れているようですが、かといって集客力はあまりない気がするし。。中華圏にはかなり強いようなので、もし”中国語を話せる”などのアドバンテージがあるとしたら、いいかも知れません！それで成功してる方も沢山いますしね＾＾ ③ トライアンドエラーを繰り返す！ 学習者が思うように増えない場合、必ず原因があります。ただし、最初は誰でも試行錯誤が必要です！ ここで私の成功？談 私が今、楽しくオンラインで日本語教師を続けられているのは、「コミュニティ」の力がとても大きいと感じています。 相談相手が見つからず、「誰に相談したらいいの？」と悩んでいる方へ。実は、私も同じような経験をしてきました。周りに相談できる人がいない中で、X（旧Twitter）で似た境遇の方を片っ端からフォローしてみたり、YouTubeや本で知識を得ようと奮闘していました。（もちろん今も続けています！） 例えば、「教え方に自信が持てない」「フリートークのレッスンはどう進めるのがいいの？」「値上げのタイミングや方法に迷う」といった具体的な悩みを抱えている方も多いのではないでしょうか？ そんな時、実際に話せる仲間の存在は、本当に心強いものです。 私が参加している勉強会（https://note.com/toda_nihongo/n/n741cdd37118b）では、日本語教師歴15年以上のベテランから、私のようにスタートしたばかりの人までが集まり、互いに切磋琢磨しています。悩みや課題を共有したり、最近はAIの活用方法についても熱い話題です！ 同じように悩んでいる人は、あなた以外にも必ずいます。だからこそ、ぜひ何かのコミュニティに参加してみることをオススメします＾＾ ④ 日本語の知識よりも大事なこととは？ もちろん、日本語を教える知識は重要ですが、何より大事なのはコミュニケーションスキルだと私は思っています。 一言アドバイス プラットフォームには、ベテランの先生が数多くいます。また、言語学習はAIとでもできますし、むしろAIの方が気兼ねなくできる、なんていう時代です。そんな中で大切なのは、「人との繋がり、コミュニケーション力」だと思います。私は楽しいことや冗談が好きなので、授業でも「笑顔」と「笑う」ということを大切にしています。 最後に・・・ 誰でも最初は1年生！皆さんのオンライン日本語教師デビューが素晴らしいものになりますように！一緒に頑張りましょう〜！ ここまで読んでくださり、ありがとうございました＾＾ 日常や日本語教師としての悩みなどを書いています〜よかったら繋がりましょう！ X:https://x.com/coconattsu16?t=xqYsdDWzNG6_CK_C29KY8Q&s=32

Japanese learners are taught “やさしい　易しい” to say “easy” early in their studies.日本語は難しいです。（にほんごはむずかしいです。） でも　英語は易しいです。（でもえいごはやさしいです。） Japanese is difficult, but English is easy.
